The Watkins Glen Writers Group presents a featured reading by Walter Franklin, poet from near Greenwood, NY as part of the Watkins Glen Reading Series on Monday, August 22nd at 7:00 PM. at the Montour House Cafe & Tapas Bar at 401 W. Main Street, Montour Falls, NY.  Please note that we will be meeting early prior to the reading for a meal, snacks or drinks at 6:00 PM.  Let’s be supportive of the cafe since they have graciously agreed to host us.

Walter Franklin is a German-born American poet, educator and naturalist who lives near Greenwood, New York. He fly-fishes, hikes, and finds himself involved with various environmental restoration projects. His many books of poetry and prose include Earthstars, Chanterelles, Destroying Angels (FootHills Publishing, 2016), Beautiful Like a Mayfly (Wood Thrush Books, 2015), Sand & Sage (Great Elm Press, 2010), and The Wild Trout (Nightshade Press, 1989 & 1991).
